Viet Nam to host regional number-bar code forum

Ha Noi (VNA) - The Directorate for Standards and Quality (STAMEQ) will host an Asia Pacific regional forum on number and bar codes in Ha Noi on November 14-15. A number of training courses on the latest technologies used in the field will be organised during the event, according to the directorate. Luu Thi Kim Thanh, head of the STAMEQ’s number and bar code office, said Viet Nam has seen a rapid growth in the number of businesses which registered for the use of number and bar codes since its admission to the international organisatsion GS1 in 1995. The number of new registers exceeded 2,000 in just the past two years, she added. The STAMEQ also built a database on Viet Nam ’s number and bar code users and posted it to the Internet.-Enditem
