Pakistan confirms first bird flu death

Ha Noi (VNA) - Pakistan on December 15 confirmed its first death from the bird flu virus, foreign media reported. The victim was a man working at a poultry farm and participated in the cull of ill poultry in late October. Six people had been infected with the H5N1 strain of avian influenza, all of them in North West frontier province, which borders Afghanistan, foreign media said, citing the Pakistani Health Ministry’s statement as saying that five of them have fully recovered.-Enditem
