Catholic dignitaries meet to celebrate Christmas

Ba Ria-Vung Tau (VNA) – Catholic priests and pastors gathered at a meeting in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau on December 18 in anticipation of Christmas. The meeting was co-organised by the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Chapter and the Committee for Religious and Ethnic Affairs in the province. During the meeting, Ta Van Sinh, Director of the Commission for Mass Mobilisation of the Provincial Party Committee, congratulated the Catholic dignitaries and people on the upcoming festive holiday. Bishop Nguyen Van Cham of the Ba Ria Toma bishopric area, thanked local authorities for their care and said in the future, priests and pastors will encourage parishioners to contribute more to boosting the development of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province. During 2007, Catholics in the locality actively participated in humanitarian, poverty reduction and crime prevention programmes.- Enditem
