Viet Nam, France fasten financial cooperation

Ha Noi (VNA) – The Vietnamese Finance Ministry and the French Adetef agency have signed a financial cooperation strategy for the 2008-2010 period. The strategy aims to enhance Viet Nam ’s State agencies’ economic and financial management capability, focusing on the treasury, taxation and customs systems, said Deputy Finance Minister Tran Van Ta. The State treasury will be modernised to better manage the State budget and funds. A State accounting centre and an effective budget management system will also be built. Regarding taxation, the French side will assist in further reform of the taxation management system. The strategy will assist the modernisation of the customs sector with a computer-based harmonious customs process meeting international standards to be put in place. In addition to three above fields, both sides agreed to cooperate in financial inspection and State capital management. Next January, the Finance Ministry will organise a fact finding tour to France after working visits by the French Inspector General and the French National Audit Office to Viet Nam . In addition, Adetef will send French experts to Viet Nam to help in financial inspection during the reform process.-Enditem
