SOS villages provide home to 2,674 orphans

Ha Noi (VNA) – SOS villages for children across Viet Nam have provided shelter and care for 2,674 orphans and abandoned children over the past twenty years.

Viet Nam ’s SOS children’s villages celebrated their 20 th anniversary and received the Labour Order, second class, awarded by the State, at a ceremony in Ha Noi on December 22.

The first SOS children’s village in Viet Nam was set up in 1967 near Ho Chi Minh City and now there are 12 such villages from north to south.

Under a development plan from now until 2016, Viet Nam SOS children’s villages plan to receive over 18,000 orphan and homeless children.-Enditem
