24/12/2007 -- 12:03 PM

Ha Noi (VNA) – The largest project to promote musical exchanges between Viet Nam and Norway is to kick off from January 1 next year.

The three-year plan, titled An Exchange, will draw together musical organizations and academies of two countries to boost exchanges in musical traditions and skills between the two countries.

Taking part in the project are the Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City Musical Academies , the Viet Nam Symphony Orchestra and Norwegian partners including the Musical Information Centre, Musician Association, Barratt Due Musical Institute and Norwegian Embassy in Ha Noi.

Under the leadership of chairman Geir Johnson and managers Nguyen Thanh Thuy and Ton Nu Quynh Chi, the project has three parts; building institutions to preserve music, organizing exchanges to improve technical ability and finally, developing talent and issuing intellectual property.

“We intend to run An Exchange until December 31,2009,” project founder Geir Johnson said.

“Having taken part in smaller projects in Ha Noi and HCM City , we feel we already have valuable experience to prepare us for this plan.”-Enditem
