Micronesia wants cooperation with HCMC

HCM City (VNA) - Speaker of the Micronesian Congress Isaac V. Figir said he hoped that his visit to Viet Nam would open up a new cooperation period between the two countries and, particularly in tourism and fisheries with Ho Chi Minh City.

The speaker, who is on a visit to Viet Nam at the invitation of his counterpart Nguyen Phu Trong, made the statement at a meeting with Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Council Pham Phuong Thao on January 10.

The Micronesian top law maker spoke highly of the potential and creativeness of the Vietnamese people and affirmed that the visit has brought in useful experience for his country.

After introducing Micronesia’s potential in sea-based development, tourism and the country’s demand for rice import, Speaker Figir affirmed that he will come back Ho Chi Minh City together with Micronesian businesses to scout for cooperation opportunities in the private sector.-Enditem
