Working class’s Party focuses on high-quality workforce

Ha Noi (VNA) - Communist Party of Viet Nam General Secretary Nong Duc Manh has emphasised the task to build an intellectual modern working class in service of the national development. The Party leader set up the task for the 10 th Party Central Committee at its 9-day plenary session opened in Ha Noi on January 14, which also aims to improve the leadership and combat capacity of the grassroots Party organisations as well ass the quality of party members. Other items on the agenda included measures to perfect the legal system of a socialist-oriented market economy in the context of globalisation. In this regard, Party General Secretary Manh called on the meeting to work out practical measures to better the quality of grassroots Party organisations’ operation. “Party cells should act as a bridge to span the Party and the public and be able to immediately solve emerging problems,” said the Party leader. All these tasks are urgent so as to sustain a high economic growth and successful global integration while maintaining the socialist orientation with the goal of “Prosperous people, a strong nation and an equal, democratic and civilised society,” he emphasised. Party General Secretary Manh called for efforts to develop the nation’s working class in both quality and quantity. “The working class should become an intellectual and high-skilled workforce, be able to master advanced technology, have an industrial working-style and good discipline, thus catching up with the market economy and global integration trend,” concluded the Party leader.--Enditem
