Gold prices hit new record in local market

Ha Noi (VNA) – The price of gold surged to an all-time record of 17.75-17.76 million VND per tael on January 14 in the local market as the world price hit 913 USD per ounce. Giant gold distributors, such as Ha Noi-based Bao Tin Minh Chau and Saigon Jewellery Corp., had to update their prices every minute on the day. Experts said that gold prices on the global market would continue to increase if the Federal Reserve of the US cuts the interest rate.-Enditem
