15/01/2008 -- 6:51 PM

HCM City (VNA) – Dai-Ichi Viet Nam , a subsidiary of Dai-Ichi Life Insurance of Japan, announced on January 15 that it has raised its investment capital from 25 million USD to 72 million USD after one year of operation.

The increase has turned Dai-Ichi Viet Nam into the second largest foreign-invested life insurer in the country.

“The decision to pour a large investment capital into Viet Nam reflects our belief in the company’s future as well as prospects of the Vietnamese life insurance market,” said its General Director Takashi Fujii.

“With financial and experience support from the Dai-Ichi Life Insurance of Japan, we will focus investment on information technology and infrastructure in an effort to bring more services to Vietnamese clients,” he added.

In 2007, Dai-Ichi Viet Nam posted nearly 473 billion VND (29.5 million USD) in revenues, representing a 28 percent increase over the previous year.-Enditem
