1.7 trillion VND for Cat Bi airport upgrade

Hai Phong (VNA) - The Cat Bi International Airport in the northern port city of Hai Phong will receive more than 1.7 trillion VND (roughly 106.3 million USD) from the government for its upgrade from now until 2025. The People’s Committee of Hai Phong city and the Ministry of Transport announced a Prime Minister decision approving the project on Jan. 15. The airport will be upgraded to receive A321 and B767 planes, 2 million passengers, and 17,000 tonnes of cargo a year by 2015. Ten years later, it will be capable to welcome B747-400 and B777 aircraft, 3.6 million passengers and 82,000 tonnes of cargo a year.-Enditem
