Guatemala wants increased ties with Viet Nam

Mexico (VNA) – Guatemala ’s new Foreign Minister wished an increased cooperation and friendship between Guatemala and Viet Nam, saying that concrete measures are required to achieve this.

FM Haroldo Rodas made the affirmation in a recent meeting with Vietnamese President’s Special Envoy Pham Van Que.

The Vietnamese diplomat was in the Latin American country to attend an office taking ceremony of Guatemala’s newly elected President Alvaro Colom in Guatemala city on January 14.

Alvaro Colom, who won the November election, is the Guatemala first leftist president in 50 years.-Enditem
