Industrial bank BIDV launches massive bond listing

HCM City (VNA) - The Bank for Investment and Development of Viet Nam (BIDV) on January 17 listed 30 million bonds worth 3 trillion VND on the Ho Chi Minh City Securities Exchange (HOSE).

The fresh launch has brought the value of BIDV bonds circulated in the market to 7.2 trillion VND, making it the largest bond supplier in Viet Nam .

BIDV fixed the annual interest rate for its five-year term bonds in this issuance at 8.15 percent, the lowest compared to bonds of the same term issued by other enterprises.

Orders for BIDV bonds immediately hit 3.6 trillion VND, or 20 percent over the supply.

BIDV post a pre-tax profit of more than 2 trillion VND in 2007, an increase of 57.8 percent over the previous year. Its pre-tax profit is expected to grow 52 percent this year.--Enditem
