Seventh mobile network to be added to national system

Ha Noi (VNA)- The Global Telecommunications Corporation (GTel) under the Ministry of Public Security is awaiting a license from the Ministry of Information and Communications for operating a 1,800 MHz band system. Once licensed, GTel will become the seventh mobile phone service supplier, joining with VinaPhone, MobileFone and Viettel in conducting the GSM technology. Up to last December, the nation boasted some 40 million mobile phone subscribers, of whom up to 80 percent are pre-paid card users.--Enditem
