Domestic airline fare ceiling lifted

28/01/2008 -- 11:46 AM

Ha Noi (VNA) – The Ministry of Finance has approved for Vietnam Airlines and Pacific Airlines to increase the domestic airlines face ceiling to 1.7 million VND for one-way domestic flights, economy class, from the current 1.5 million VND.

The new ceiling takes effect on March 1, which allows passengers to travel on the current range of fares during the Tet (lunar new year) holiday.

The ministry rejected the two airlines’ proposal to raise the ceiling to 2 million VND.

Pacific Airlines currently has 11 levels of fares, and Vietnam Airlines has about 40 fares, the highest being 1.5 million VND for the Ha Noi-Ho Chi Minh City route.-Enditem
