Lao Cai expects to greet 800,000 visitors in 2008

Lao Cai (VNA) – The northern mountain province of Lao Cai expects to receive 800,000 visitors this year, an increase of 30 percent against 2006. Lao Cai will hold some big events this year including the Culture-Tourism Week in Bac Ha and the second International Climbing Contest on Mt. Fansipan . Last year, Lao Cai drew 632,000 visitors, including 223,000 foreigners, a year-on-year increase of 13 percent. -Enditem
