FDI firms honoured for sustainable development

HCM City (VNA) – Forty foreign-invested businesses operating in four southern localities were presented with the Saigon Times Top 40 awards for sustainable development at a ceremony held in Ho Chi Minh City on January 27.

The annual award was initiated by the Saigon Times Group in coordination with the Departments of Planning and Investment of Ho Chi Minh City, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Binh Duong and Dong Nai provinces.

All the honoured businesses have obtained high capital disbursement rate and made practical contributions to social development through their charitable and environmental protection activities.

Earlier, on January 26, the Viet Nam Economic Times and the Ministry of Planning and Investment granted the Golden Dragon Award to 80 FDI businesses for their excellent performance in Viet Nam .

This year’s winners are from ten fields, including agriculture, forestry and fisheries; food and beverages; automobile; construction and construction materials; finance, banking, insurance; information technology and telecommunications; and oil and gas industries.

Viet Nam is expected to welcome a higher wave of FDI this year, that was signaled by a total of 1.7 billion USD in FDI capital the country had received by January 27, five times higher than the figure of the same period last year.-Enditem
