Japan's firms want more Vietnamese technicians

28/01/2008 -- 5:18 PM

Tokyo (VNA) – Japanese machinery and car manufacturers plan a large-scale employment of technicians from developing countries, particularly Viet Nam and India, to expand their production.

Japanese car-maker Nissan said that in the next three years the group will employ some 4,000 workers in order to double its current overseas employee ratio by 40 percent.

Viet Nam and India will serve as main points in Nissan’s expansion plan. The company’s employees in Viet Nam are expected to increase from 600 to 2,000 in the next three years.

Meanwhile, Japan’s Ishikawajima Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (IHI) considered Viet Nam as its key market with a goal to reach overseas shipbuilding markets. IHI plans to establish a shipbuilding company in Viet Nam with the aim of transfering parts of its commercial shipbuilding design from Japan to the Southeast Asian nation. –Enditem
