Son La marks off some 100 hydro-power projects

Ha Noi (VNA)- The northern mountainous province of Son La alone has zoned off 95 small and medium-sized hydro power projects with a combined capacity of 321 MW, said the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MIT). In addition, the province is considering another nine projects with a total capacity of 48 MW. By late 2007, the MIT has licensed 16 projects, of which one has generated electricity and 15 others are under construction.--Enditem
