Both stock exchanges see continued decline

Ha Noi (VNA) – Almost all shares at both stock markets suffered losses on the February 13 session, the second session after a week-long break due to the traditional Lunar New Year festival.

At the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, the VN-Index dropped 23.37 points or 2.87 percent to finish at 817.86 points.

The total number of traded shares was 7.6 million valued at 648 billion VND.

Blue-chips like BMC of the Binh Dinh Minerals Company, DHG of the Hau Giang Pharmaceutical Company, FPT of the Financing and Promoting Technology Corporation, and others saw drops in value of between 2,000-14,000 VND per unit.

On the Ha Noi Securities Trading Centre, blue-chips had their values dropped between 5,000-12,000 VND per unit.

The HaSTC-Index was pulled down 6.2 points (2.13 percent) to close at 283.91 points. Some 3.2 million shares were traded at 257 billion VND.

Pundits said indexes would continue dropping as investors are shrinking from buying.-Enditem
