Stock exchanges experience slight increase

Ha Noi (VNA) – The VN-Index in Ho Chi Minh City bounced back on February 14 after two losing sessions, increasing 5.6 points to end at 823.46 points.

More than 9 million shares, valued at 723 billion VND, changed hand during the trading session.

Blue-chips like NTL of Tu Liem Urban Development, TCT of Nui Ba Tay Ninh Cable and BMP of Binh Minh Plastics saw an increase of 5,000 VND per unit.

The HaSTC-Index of the Ha Noi Securities Trading Centre increased 1.31 points to finish at 285.22 points.

Some 3.4 million shares valued at 271 billion VND were traded.

VSP of the Viet Nam Shipbuilding Industry Corporation Joint Stock Co. rose by 8,000 VND per unit, PVS of the Petroleum Technical Services Co. by 3,800 VND per unit and PVE of the PetroVietnam Investment Consultancy and Engineering Co. by 2,000 VND per unit.

Investors at the Asia Commercial Bank Securities Company’s trading floor said the Vietnamese stock market is influenced by that of the US . If the US stock market loses in the next two sessions, the Vietnamese market will follow-suit despite an increase in the February 14 trading session, they said.-Enditem
