Compal to build laptop plant in Viet Nam

Ha Noi (VNA) – The Taiwanese-based Compal Electronics Inc., said on February 19 that it will build a laptop manufacturing plant in Viet Nam . A company executive said the plant will be built at an estimated cost of 500 million USD and it is scheduled for trial operation by the fourth quarter of this year. As of next year, the plant is expected to assemble 1 million laptops a month, the executive said. Compal is one of the world’s largest notebook computer manufacturers, turning out 22.6 million units last year.-Enditem
