Viet Nam-Japan trade turnover hits 12.5 billion USD in 2007

Tokyo (VNA) - Trade turnover between Viet Nam and Japan hit 12.5 billion USD in 2007, up 26.1 percent over the previous year, according to the Viet Nam trade mission in Japan .

Viet Nam ’s export to Japan reached 6.5 billion USD, an annually increase of 16.7 percent.

Viet Nam earned 1 billion USD from export of crude oil to Japan , 835 million USD from garment and textiles, 763 million USD from electricity cables, 555 million USD from seafood, 229 million USD from woodworks and 181 million USD from footwear.

The trade mission forecast that Viet Nam trade surplus to Japan would continue in the coming years, with the diversification of export items to include flowers, luxury garment, processed food and light industrial products.-Enditem
