Laos-Viet Nam bank fulfills targets set for 2007

Vientiane (VNA) – The Laos-Viet Nam Joint Venture Bank (LVB) overfulfilled its targets set for 2007 and continued to be a good provider of capital and exchange service between Vietnamese dong and Lao kip.

In 2007, the bank’s total asset reached almost 160 million USD, a year-on-year rise of 36 percent and its mobilising capital went up to 142 million USD, a year-on-year increase of 41 percent.

In addition, it earned 3.554 million USD in profits or 26 percent of its total turnover after investing 28 million USD in the inter-bank market.

The LVB’s profits surpassed 2 million USD in 2007, the record high since being founded in 1999, and its pre-tax profits reached 2.027 million USD, a year-on-year rise of 110 percent.

The bank is now striving to become a leading bank in Laos.-Enditem
