Ha Noi posts 20.3 percent increase in industrial production

Ha Noi (VNA) – Ha Noi’s industrial production value in February was estimated to surge 20.3 percent over the same period last year.

The foreign-invested sector enjoyed the highest growth rate of over 39 percent, followed by non-State enterprises, nearly 15 percent, and State-owned businesses, 5.3 percent.

Up to 16 out of 19 industries in the foreign-invested sector recorded increases, including garment (235.4 percent), paper (170.8 percent), rubber and plastic (193.1 percent) and mechanical engineering (277.4 percent).

Meanwhile, food and wood processing and metal production saw decreases ranging from 6 percent to 39 percent.

According to the Ha Noi Statistics Department, in the first two months of this year, the city is likely to enjoy a year-on-year rise of 18.8 percent in industrial production value.-Enditem
