Engine, agricultural machine production to be key industry

Ha Noi (VNA) – The engine and agricultural machine production industry will try to reach a production value of 1.99 trillion VND in 2010, 3.28 trillion VND in 2015 and 5.4 trillion VND in 2020. The target is set in a development plan for the industry until 2015 with a vision to 2020, which has just been approved by the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The plan stresses that the industry should strive to meet domestic demands for 12HP two-wheeled tractors by 2010 and part of local needs of four-wheeled tractors of higher capacities. Local factories will focus on making engine parts, such as body, camshaft, crankshaft and connecting rod with the aim of producing hi-tech devices, such as oil pump, high-pressure valve and multi-fuel engines after 2015.-Enditem
