Singaporean President visits Da Nang city

Da Nang (VNA) – Singaporean President S.R. Nathan called on the central city of Da Nang on February 27 as part of his five-day official visit to Viet Nam .

While in Da Nang , President Nathan and his entourage were received by Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Tran Van Minh. The President is scheduled to hold a meeting with Singaporean businessmen and visit the Champa Museum , the ancient town of Hoi An and the world cultural heritage site of My Son.

Last year, Da Nang exported to Singapore 8.2 million USD worth of products, mainly coffee, tobacco, rubber, fine art and handicraft articles, wood furniture, frozen seafood, leather footwear and garments.

The city imported from Singapore petrol, plastic granules, machineries, pharmaceutical products, metalware and chemicals, valued at nearly 27.8 million USD.

There are five Singaporean-invested projects worth a combined 110 million USD operating in Da Nang city.-Enditem
