VN-Index continues falling, blue chips suffer

28/02/2008 -- 5:55 PM

Ha Noi (VNA) – A fall-off in the transaction volume of blue chips caused a continued decline at the Ho Chi Minh City bourse during the February 28 trading session.

VNM of the Vinamilk, SSI of the Saigon Securities Inc., BMP of the Binh Minh Plastics Joint Stock Company and many other blue chips suffered a sharp decrease, pushing the VN-Index of the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange down 8.37 points by the end of the session, finishing at 687.12 points.

Around 10.9 million shares, worth 752 billion VND, changed hands during the day.

The downward trend of the southern floor made an impact on the Ha Noi market where the HaSTC-Index saw a humble increase of 0.05 points to close at 232.28 points with over 3.3 million shares, worth 222 billion VND, being traded.-Enditem
