Viet Nam calls for an end to Israel-Palestine violence

New York (VNA) – Viet Nam shares the view that the United Nations Security Council need timely act for an immediate end to the escalation of violence between Israel and Palestine , said the Vietnamese diplomat at an emergency meeting held on the issue in New York on March 1.

Vietnamese deputy permanent representative to the UN Security Council Ambassador Hoang Chi Trung expressed his deep concern over rocket firings into Israel and Israel 's excessive use of force to attack the Palestinian territory which left heavy civilian casualties, including women and children.

The Vietnamese diplomat also called on concerned parties to cease such acts that killed many innocent civilians and exercise the utmost restraint so as not to affect the peace process in the Middle East .

In a speech at the meeting, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon called on parties to restraint, end violence and promote peace dialogue.-Enditem
