Ha Noi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung’s visit to the UK and North Ireland, Germany and Ireland are expected to turn a new page in the relations between Viet Nam and the three European countries.
An editorial in Nhan dan (People) newspaper on March 3 said the visit manifests Viet Nam ’s wish to consolidate comprehensive cooperation and increase political relations, mutual understanding and trust with the European Union.
PM Dung’s visit also aims to create drastic changes in economic and trade cooperation between Viet Nam and these countries, said the paper.
Quan Doi Nhan Dan (People’s Army) newspaper also ran an editorial, stressing that the visit, which takes place at a time when Viet Nam is boosting its renewal process, will promote the country’s open foreign policy and external economic relations.
Under the title “Tightening Viet Nam-EU relations”, Ha Noi Moi (New Ha Noi) newspaper said the PM’s visit will lift Viet Nam-EU ties to a new level.
PM Nguyen Tan Dung’s 9-day visit to the UK , Germany and Ireland , starting on March 3, is made at the invitations of British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Irish Prime Minister Bertie Ahem.
He is accompanied by Deputy PM and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Gia Khiem, Minister and Chairman of Government Office Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Ministers of Planning and Investment Vo Hong Phuc, Minister of Industry and Trade Vu Huy Hoang and other officials from State and Government agencies.-Enditem
