03/03/2008 -- 11:31 AM

Ha Noi (VNA) – An exhibition on the Vietnamese culture will be held at the National Museum of Korea (NKM) in Seoul by the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Republic of Korea’s cultural sector.

A delegation of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, led by Dang Van Than, head of the Cultural Heritage Department, and the RoK’s cultural senior officials will launch the event on March 10.

In preparation for the largest show of Vietnamese culture in the RoK so far, the Cultural Heritage Department and three Vietnamese museums have lent nearly 300 items to the NKM in two years.

According to Haewon Kim from NKM, one of the six largest museum in the world, the exhibition will include three sections. The first section will introduce Viet Nam’s geological position, history, and people; the second will show the first stage of the development of Vietnamese traditional crafts from the 3rd century before Christmas to the 1st and 2nd centuries; and wooden handicraft products and ceramics from the most glorious period of Vietnamese handicraft will be on display in the third section.

The event is part of a programme to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Viet Nam-RoK diplomatic ties this year.-Enditem
