Vietnamese, Lao procuracy secure cooperation

Vientiane (VNA) – Viet Nam and Laos procuracy representatives met in Vientiane on March 3 to discuss cooperation in combating crime. The Lao Supreme People’s Procuracy Director Sengphan Phengkhammy said Laos appreciated Viet Nam ’s assistance in improving procuracy cadres’ capacity and legal processes and procedures in its central and local agencies. The two sides agreed to implement a Memorandum of Understanding, signed on May 30, 2005, to expand cooperation and exchange visits, especially between localities sharing a common border. The Vietnamese Supreme People’s Procuracy agreed to continue sending legislative experts to Laos and receiving Lao students for training and education. The Vietnamese delegation, headed by the Supreme People’s Procuracy of Viet Nam Director Tran Quoc Vuong, is on a visit to Laos from March 2-8.-Enditem
