Viet Nam's best footballers of 2007 named

HCM City (VNA) – Striker Le Cong Vinh and national women’s team captain Doan Kim Chi have won the men’s and women’s Golden Ball titles of the year. The results of the poll, involving 155 sports journalists, coaches and experts, were announced in HCM City on March 4. Vinh from Petroleum Finance-Song Lam Nghe An won the best male footballer of the year tally with 425 points. The silver ball went to Nguyen Minh Phuong from Dong Tam Long An who received 186 points. Binh Duong’s Nguyen Vu Phong won the bronze ball with 89 points. In the women’s poll, Chi from HCM City beat Ha Tay’s Dao Thi Mien and HCM City’s Tran Thi Kim Hong to take the Golden Ball with 420 points. Nguyen Thanh Long Giang from Tien Giang won the Best Junior Player title for the second consecutive time. The Foreign Player of the Year Award was awarded to Brazilian Jose Almeida from SHB Da Nang team. The Golden Ball award is organised by the Sai Gon Giai Phong (Liberated Sai Gon) newspaper.-Enditem
