First training course for foreign military kicks off

Ha Noi (VNA) - The National Defence Institute inaugurated a training course for foreign military officers, the first of its kind so far in Viet Nam, in Ha Noi on March 4. The three month-long course is attended by 19 senior military officers from 17 countries that have established defence ties with Viet Nam . Lectures will focus on socio-economic and political issues as well as military sciences of the host country. Addressing the inauguration, Lieut. Gen. Pham Xuan Hung, Director of the sponsoring institute, said the course is the signal of Viet Nam ’s seriousness in implementing international commitments and its goodwill to develop friendship and mutual trust with other countries in the interest of peace and security in the region and the world as a whole.--Enditem
