Huge insurance deal for largest container port

HCM City (VNA) – An insurance contract for construction of the Saigon Port-SSA International Container Terminal (SSIT), the largest of its kind in Viet Nam, was signed in Ho Chi Minh City on March 6. Under the deal, Bao Viet Saigon will act as an insurance company while Aon Viet Nam will provide risk consultancy and insurance arrangements for the port’s construction. The 125-million-USD contract will be valid for three years from April 1. Located in the Cai Mep river area in southern Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, the 60.5ha terminal is being built at a cost of 282 million USD. It is designed to receive container ships with capacities of up to 160,000DWT and handle 1.57 million tonnes of cargo per year.-Enditem
