HCM City introduces Recycling Day

08/03/2008 -- 9:00 PM

HCM City (VNA) – Ho Chi Minh City’s Natural Resources and Environment Department and its partners will organise the 2008 Recycling Day on April 20 to encourage residents, especially youngsters, to work together to save the environment.

The day’s message is: “We made rubbish. We have to recyle rubbish. All for our health.”

The day will include community activities, attracting 1,000 students from primary and secondary schools around the city, who will attend a meeting at Le Van Tam Park. The city said it had spent a great deal of money on equipment and staff to treat 2.2 million tonnes of solid waste a year.-Enditem
