Berlin (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung witnessed the signing of economic deals worth a total of 2.4 billion USD between Vietnamese and German businesses during his visit to Germany which began on March 6.
The signing took place following the Viet Nam-Germany Business Forum held in Frankfurt on March 7.
The Viet Nam Aviation Corporation, the PetroVietnam Construction Joint Stock Corporation and the Viet Nam Bank for Investment and Development signed with the Bitgevin company a deal on the building of the Xuan Phuong urban area in Germany at the cost of 1.5 billion USD.
The Viet Nam Shipbuilding Industry Group inked with the Staholding Und Management a freighter purchase worth 400 million USD.
The Viet Nam Garments and Textile Group signed with the Deutches Bank an agreement on bond issuance consultancy worth 500 million USD.
Earlier, PM Dung told 300 German businesses at the Viet Nam-Germany Business Forum that with Viet Nam ’s geographical advantages and economic growth in Southeast Asia and Germany ’s important role in the European Union, economic cooperation between the two countries is conducive to boosting and expanding cooperation in a regional and global scale.
The PM assured participating German businesses that they will find many investment opportunities in Viet Nam , especially in finance, banking and infrastructure.
He asserted that the Vietnamese government has consistently pursued a policy of being a reliable friend and partner of all nations for the sake of peace, friendship, equal cooperation, mutual benefit and mutual development.
“Viet Nam will seriously implement its commitments to the international community,” the PM stressed, affirming the country’s resolve to speed up institutional perfection and administrative reform to create a more open, transparent and favourable environment for investors and foreign businesses, including German businesses when doing business in Viet Nam.
He reiterated that Viet Nam has seriously complied with commitments to opening its markets, including such sensitive markets as the retails, finance, telecommunication and banking markets.
Before attending the Viet Nam-Germany Business Forum, PM Dung visited the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and attended the inauguration of the Viet Nam Consulate General in Frankfurt.-Enditem
