Work starts on passenger terminal in Can Tho city

Can Tho (VNA) – The Southern Cross Airports Corporation (SCAC) on March 3 broke ground for the construction of a 20,750 sq.m passenger terminal at the Tra Noc International Airport in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho .

Scheduled to be operational in 2008, the terminal, which will be built at a cost of 1 trillion VND (62.5 million USD), is expected to serve about 3 million passengers on domestic flights per year.

By 2010, the terminal will be tapped for international flights by business aircraft such as Boeing 777 and A340.

The SCAC has earlier invested over 520 billion VND (32.5 million USD) in upgrading the airport’s 2,400m-long runway and parking area.-Enditem
