President hails Japan’s Friendship Exchange Council

Ha Noi (VNA) – President Nguyen Minh Triet said that activities of Japan ’s Friendship Exchange Council (FEC) markedly contributed to friendship and cooperation with Viet Nam . He made the statement while meeting with a delegation headed by Chairman of FEC’s Japan-Viet Nam Cultural and Economic Exchange Committee Muto Takayoshi in Ha Noi on March 11. President Triet expressed his wish that the Japan-Viet Nam Cultural and Economic Exchange Committee would continue contribute to expanding cultural-economic relations between the two countries. The State leader affirmed that the Vietnamese Government would support Japan ’s large investment projects and wanted the country to help ease traffic jams in Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City . Muto Takayoshi told the host that FEC would tighten relations with Viet Nam while informing that Japanese investors highly appreciated Viet Nam ’s progresses in improving investment environment, administrative reform and were very interested in urban traffic projects in Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City as well as human training, finance and banking. He expressed his hope that Viet Nam would create more favourable conditions for Japanese enterprises to their business in Viet Nam . The same day, the FEC delegation was received by President of the Viet Nam-Japan Friendship Parliamentarians Alliance Ho Duc Viet. Viet expressed his hope that Japanese businesses would expand their investment in Viet Nam . He highly valued proposals by Japanese businesses to open a direct air route to Viet Nam and to transfer plantation technology to Vietnamese farmers. Muto Takayoshi informed that five of 19 visiting businesses have made concrete moves to invest in Viet Nam.-Enditem
