Northern province promotes maternal care

Bac Ninh (VNA) – The northern province of Bac Ninh is working on a programme funded by Turkey to improve the health of mothers and their children. The programme received 90 percent of its funding of 3.52 billion VN (219,000 USD) from a Turkish development organisation. Funds will be used to buy medical equipment and drugs, was well as train medical workers for 13 remote communes in the province. The local authorities also earmarked 320 million VND to educate local women about family planning, reproductive health and prevention against child malnutrition.-Enditem
