First foreigner appointed university president

Ha Noi (VNA) – Deputy Prime Minster and Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Thien Nhan has appointed Professor and Dr. Wolf Rieck to become the president of the Viet Nam-Germany University for the 2008-2013 period. He will be the first foreign university president in Viet Nam. Viet Nam – Germany University is being established with cooperation between Viet Nam and Germany. Eight percent of its lecturers will be Germany and the university’s teaching language will be English. Wolf Rieck is currently president of Germany’s Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences.-Enditem
