IBM announces 2008 scholarships for IT students

Ha Noi (VNA) – IBM Viet Nam will grant 15 scholarships worth 2,500 USD each for outstanding first and second-year IT students from seven universities nationwide in September 2008.

This is the enterprise’s first scholarship programme in 2008 for Vietnamese students.

According to IBM Viet Nam General Director Lee Puay Eng, the scholarship fund indicated IBM’s long-term commitment to Viet Nam ’s education, which aims to facilitate Vietnamese students’ international integration as well as create a high-quality IT human resources for the country.

In recent years, IBM has cooperated with the Ministry of Education and Training to assist the country’s educational sector at all levels, from the pre-school to tertiary levels.-Enditem
