Israeli eye surgeons give free operations

Thua Thien-Hue (VNA) – Five doctors from “Eye From Zion”, an Israeli humanitarian organisation, on March 18 began a programme to give free eye operations to 70 poor patients in Central Thua Thien-Hue province. According to Dr. Modi Naftali, the patients will receive surgeries in either ECCE-IOL or Phaco-emulsilication method in the Hue Eye Hospital and the Quang Dien District Hospital . Eye From Zion joined hands with Fred Hollows Foundation-Viet Nam (FHF) and the Hue Eye Hospital to perform the surgeries from March 18-21. Doctors from Eye From Zior and the Hue Eye Hospital also took this occasion to exchange experience in performing cataract surgeries by Phaco method. Eye From Zion also plans to give free eye surgeries to poor patients in northern Ha Giang province from March 24-28.-Enditem
