18/03/2008 -- 9:46 PM

HCM City (VNA) – The Applied Micro Circuits Corporation (AMCC) of the US on March 18 announced its establishment of a 1 million USD design centre in Ho Chi Minh City, the group’s biggest ever centre abroad.

The AMCC Viet Nam centre, located at the Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone, will specialise in designing integrated circuits (IC).

It will focus on designing power chips and is searching for a Vietnamese partner in designing circuit boards.

Highly appreciating the close ties between universities and the industrial sector in Viet Nam , the AMCC Viet Nam has signed a tripartite agreement with the Mentor Graphics and the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology on supply of labs, software and facilities.-Enditem
