Welding competition heats up to build skills

21/03/2008 -- 11:55 AM

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam-German Technology Transfer will join hands with Reed Tradex to organise the Viet Nam Welding Competition, from May 8 to 10 at the Ha Noi International Centre for Exhibitions, announced Chainarong Limpkittisin, deputy managing director of the Vietnam Reed Tradex Co, at a press briefing in Hanoi on March 19.

Chainarong said that Red Tradex knew how important it was to build up workers’ skills, especially in welding, a basic skill for several industries, including automotive parts, airports, oil and gas drilling rigs as well as electrical engineering and electronic parts manufacturing.

“To this end, we have joined together with Vietnam-German Technology Transfer and Training Centre (HwC) to prepare for the Welding Competition, in search of the best welder in the country.

“We expect that welders will see the importance of upgrading and improving their skills, which will in turn help manufacturers improve their competitiveness among Vietnamese industries,” Chainarong said.

Reed Tradex will also hold a grand exhibition from May 8-10 to showcase new technologies in five sectors to help companies improved their manufacturing capabilities.

The technologies on show will include the International Trade and Technologies Exhibition for Electronics Manufacturing; Vietnam’s International Machinery Expo for Automative Parts; Vietnam’s International Factory Automation, Electrical and Power Transmission and Material Handling Technologies.-Enditem
