25/03/2008 -- 8:49 PM

Hanoi (VNA) – The Veterinary Department under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development reported on March 25 that bird flu still remained in southern Soc Trang and Ca Mau provinces, and central Quang Nam , Quang Binh and Quang Tri provinces.

Of the five localities, Quang Tri province reported no new outbreak over the last 19 days.

However, there is a high risk of bird flu occurring in localities nationwide, according to the national steering committee on bird flu prevention.

Meanwhile, animal foot-and-mouth disease returns to central Nghe An and Ha Tinh province. The Veterinary Department has urged the two provinces and others in the central area to take drastic measures to prevent the disease spreading widely.-Enditem
