Hanoi hosts Asia Trade Promotion Forum

Hanoi (VNA) – Hanoi will host the 21st Asia Trade Promotion Forum (ATPF) from April 3-4, according to Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Trade Promotion Agency (Vietrade) Director Do Thang Hai. “This is the first time Viet Nam will host such an event since admitted to the ATPF in 2001,” Vietrade Director Hai told the press in Ha Noi on March 28. He said 18 ATPF member delegations are expected to join the forum “Challenges to trade promotion organisations (TPOs): Serving the business community more professionally and effectively”. During the two-day forum, the participants will focus their discussions on two topics – “Understanding TPO’s customers” and “Serving the Business Community in the Era of Internationalisation”. According to the Vietrade Director, hosting the ATPF21 provides a good opportunity for Viet Nam to share experiences with other ATPF members in raising the TPOs’ capability, training trade promotion officials and establishing a nationwide trade promotion system. Founded in 1987 under Japan’s initiative, the ATPF has 21-member trade promotion organisations from Asia . Vietrade represents Vietnam . Held annually, the ATFP’s objective is to enhance trade development in the region through information exchange and implementing cooperation projects among ATPF members.-Enditem
