Finland hailed for employing Vietnamese workers

0328Khiem.jpgHanoi (VNA) – Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Khiem praised Finland’s goodwill in developing a pilot project on employing Vietnamese workers in Finland, expressing his belief that the project will help improve Vietnamese workers’ skills.

Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Khiem on March 28 received Finnish Minister of Employment and the Economy Tarja Cronberg and her delegation. The Finnish guests were on a working visit to deploy high-level agreements between the two governments.

On the pilot project to send 24 Vietnamese workers to Finland in September, Deputy PM Khiem said that the labour quality should be top priority in the selection of workers.

Minister Tarja Cronberg appreciated Vietnamese workers’ skills and working discipline after making a fact-finding tour of some enterprises in the Thang Long industrial zone.

The minister said the Finnish Government had issued policies to ensure safety and create favourable conditions for foreign workers. She affirmed that her country is ready to cooperate with Vietnam in training workers.

Deputy PM Khiem and Minister Tarja Cronberg hoped that the pilot project would usher in a large labour cooperation programme benefitial to both countries.-Enditem
