Foreigners work without permit

HCM City (VNA) - Over 600 foreign employees in HCM City last month did not have a work permit despite being legally required to, a report from the city’s Departement of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs said. A total of 2,552 foreign workers were recorded in March, of whom 1,791 had work permits and 154 were allowed to work without one. Foreign workers from 42 different countries flocked to Vietnam last year, representing a 35 percent increase over 2006. Previous years had seen a average 20 percent rise.-Enditem
