Orbis experts provide training to local eye doctors

Danang (VNA) – The Orbis Flying Hospital has provided training course for more than 130 eye surgeons and nurses during its stay in Danang from March 17-April 4.

Orbis Hospital also gave eye check-ups and treatment to almost 300 local people, 75 of these people are under 16 years old.

Voluntary professors and doctors from the Orbis hospital worked alongside Vietnamese doctors in performing eye operations for the locals. They also explained the use of new treatment techniques for the local surgeons.

The flying eye hospital also plans to give a training course on common eye diseases in Ho Chi Minh City from April 7-18.

Executive Director and General Director of Orbis International Geoffrey Holland said that Orbis’s programme aims to raise the community’s awareness of eye care and ensure the availability and affordability of quality eye care services.

Orbis, a humanitarian organisation providing treatment to eye patients over the world, is helping Vietnam implement 14 projects on long-term eye care in 24 provinces and city.-Enditem
